The Strategic Vision and Action Plan enables the profession to respond to changes in UK national governments’ policies
All occupational therapists have a personal responsibility for providing evidence based services to users. The College’s Strategic Vision and Action plan is intended to support occupational therapists by progressing the research agenda at a national level.
The College's research and development strategic vision and action plan was published in 2001 and confirmed research and development as essential activities underpinning professional practice. Since that time, the framework of the plan has been replicated as a tool for the development of targeted research and development strategies for each of the College's Specialist Sections. A review of the 2001 Strategic Vision and Action Plan was carried out in 2006 and a paper summarising the outcome was published in March 2007 BJOT.
