Marketing

Marketing has responsibility for promoting occupational therapy to consumers, service commissioners and other health professionals

The marketing department also promotes members benefits, organises events and publications and annual conference. The department is also responsible for the corporate image.

Key activities include:

  • organising annual conference which typically has 160 sessions for more than a thousand attendees over three days
  • organising CPD study days and events to support members’ continuing professional development
  • producing publications for members on all aspects of occupational therapy
  • producing promotional materials that explain the benefits of OT for consumers
  • supporting members efforts to promote occupational therapy in their own workplaces and communities
  • publishing careers information, principally the annual Careers Handbook which covers all aspects of studying to become, and working as, an occupational therapist
