Thesis postal and collected loans for UK based members

Theses can be posted to UK based members by recorded delivery as part of our thesis loan service. The cost per thesis for postage and packing is £8 or £12 depending on the weight of the thesis. The Library can give you a quote for each thesis you want to borrow. Theses can also be collected in person without charge.

Deposits for thesis postal and collected loans

There is a £20 deposit for each thesis borrowed to cover late or non-returns. The deposit is required for postal and collected loans. Payment for the thesis loan service can be made by debit/card card or by cheque made payable to ‘The College of Occupational Therapists’. Deposit cheques can be destroyed or returned to you at the end of the loan period.

Thesis loan periods and renewals

The loan period for theses is three weeks from date of issue. The thesis can be renewed for an additional period of three weeks up to two times if no one else has requested it.

Thesis availability and waiting list

Only one thesis can be borrowed at one time by UK based members. We will ask you to return the thesis at the end of the loan period if another member has asked to borrow it.

Thesis loan returns

Your loan should be posted back to the Library in secure packaging by recorded delivery. Please ensure that the thesis is returned in the same condition as it was supplied or we may have to use your deposit on a replacement copy. Non-return of thesis loans will result in forfeiture of your deposit and the withdrawal of all other library services.
