NHS Pensions Ballot – Make your vote count before 27 April
BAOT members can have their say on NHS pensions in a UNISON ballot open until 27 April, with Julia Scott saying the following: "The consequences of this vote affect Occupational Therapists working in the NHS across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. As BAOT’s Secretary I encourage you to make your views known and strengthen the voice of BAOT members in this ballot. It is absolutely vital that you vote and that the result reflects your views.
"UNISON has been negotiating strongly on our behalf for fairer NHS pensions. BAOT stewards across the UK recognise that some important improvements have been made to the original proposals, and together we believe that this offer is the best that can be achieved by negotiation.
"Thank you to those that have already voted. If you haven’t yet I’m asking you to vote now, either by sending your ballot paper back in the freepost envelope provided or by using the code from your paper to vote online via this link
"These proposals do affect you so please make sure you use your vote by 27 April."
Information about the proposals and how the reform of the NHS Pension Scheme could affect you are available from the UNISON website, while the ballot helpline is open until 11am on 25 April to deal with any queries about the proposals or the ballot – phone on 0845 355 0845.
