NICE End of Life Care Quality Standard

The End of Life Care Quality Standard published by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence defines clinical best practice within End of Life Care for adults.

It provides specific, concise quality statements, measures and audience descriptors to provide the public, health and social care professionals, commissioners and service providers with definitions of high-quality care.

NICE Public Health Guidance (PH16) to be reviewed again in 2014

In line with the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) review process, public health guidance 16 'Occupational therapy interventions and physical activity interventions to promote the mental wellbeing of older people in primary care and residential care' (2008) has been reviewed to determine whether all or part of it should be updated at this stage.

The Older People’s Commissioner has published a really useful guide to the law around protection of older people. Its purpose is to help make practitioners more aware of the law available to them in their day to day work. It is not a substitute for obtaining legal advice nor is it a definitive statement of the law.  However, it is a helpful starting point.
