Funded project outputs

Details of the outputs of projects funded via the 2006 Urgent Research Priorities initiative and the UKOTRF research grant schemes

Funded project outputs demonstrate the value of investment in occupational therapy research and the contribution of the projects to building the evidence-base for occupational therapy practice. Outputs include executive summaries, publication references, synthesized evidence and other relevant information that has been made available for dissemination. The information is organised by type of funding stream and year the grant was awarded, and will be added to as projects are completed. All funded projects are required to provide a final project report, a hard copy of which will be placed in the College library for reference by members, six months after the report has been signed off.

Urgent Research Priorities (2006)

In June 2005 BAOT/COT Council agreed to support the development of a Foundation for Occupational Therapy Research. Recognising that the ongoing work needed to make this a reality would inevitably take a considerable length of time, agreement was given that an interim funding allocation of up to £250,000 would be made available from the College's reserves to meet urgent research priorities. Preference was given to proposals incorporating PhD training for a BAOT member. A total of £200,335 was disbursed to the following projects:

  • Principal Investigator: Dr Katrina Bannigan
  • PhD student: Simon Hughes
  • Institution: York St John University College
